Regulation

The training process of international students shall follow the relevant postgraduate study regulations by the university relevant offices, including but not limited to Graduate School, International Office, Finance Office etc.

The candidate shall pass in series of confirmation of enrollment, confirmation of candidature, annual performance review, mid-term review, degree thesis pre-defense and oral defense etc. for the fulfillment of academic degree conferment.

At least level-3 of International Chinese Proficiency standard (HSK Level-3)

Minimum Publication Requirement for Degree*

Publish one paper in JCR Q1 Journal or two papers in JCR Q2 Journal

Publish three papers in JCR Q1 Journal or (at least one Q1 + four Q2)

Note: The student must be either the first author, or the second author of the above required papers where his/her supervisor should be the first author.

Tuition fees

1. 20000RMB per year payable to SUT.

2. May be supported by MCIE to excellent candidates based on assessment.

3. *Successful China Scholar Council (CSC) scholarship candidate can receive 2000CNY per month as stipend for Master study, plus fee wavier and comprehensive medical insurance support.

1. 24000RMB per year payable to SUT.

2. May be supported by MCIE to excellent candidates based on assessment.

3. *Successful China Scholar Council (CSC) scholarship candidate can receive 3500CNY per month as stipend for PhD study, plus fee wavier and comprehensive medical insurance support.

Accommodation

MCIE assists with acquiring SUT on-campus dormitory or equivalent apartment.

Scholarship Allowance**

MCIE supports CSC applicant with the same amount of stipend. This should be based on evaluation, and only if the CSC outcome is negative due to non-subjective reasons.

In addition to CSC/SUT’s scholarships, MCIE provides top-up to excellent candidate.

1. The range of top-up is 5000 to 8000CNY per year. This item will be provided based on annual performance review.

2. Further publication awards can be supported after the candidate fulfilling the minimum publication requirement* for graduation. This item is in accordance with MCIE’s annual reward rule.

MCIE supports CSC applicant with the same amount of stipend. This should be based on evaluation, and only if the CSC outcome is negative due to non-subjective reasons.

In addition to CSC/SUT’s scholarships, MCIE provides top-up to excellent candidate.

1. The range of top-up is 10000 to 20000CNY per year. This item will be provided based on annual performance review.

3. Research/Teaching Assistant positions available.

Allowance Conditions

1. No allowances granted if the candidate’s absence from university exceed consecutive 3 days except vacations.

2. Allowances for master’s student should not exceed 3 years; Allowances for PhD student should not exceed 4 years.

3. All allowances will be paid according to the university regulations, and subjected to Tax law of China.

Physical examination

1. Before registration, overseas students are required to have a physical examination in hospitals of Shenyang City permitted by the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau. The cost is 600 yuan per person, and the students need burden the expense.

Personal insurance

1. Before registration, overseas students need to buy personal insurance required by the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau, SUT International Office can help you to arrange it after you arrive in China. The lowest standard is 800 yuan per person per annum, and the students need to burden the expense.

Application materials

1. Certificate of Identity (foreigners only accept passports, valid for 1 year at least).

2. The latest full CV with all supporting materials, including and not limited to publications, awards, working experience certificate etc.

3. Research proposal word and PPT (word document limits to 10 pages, PPT limits to 20 pages to be used for video interview).

4. The bachelor transcript, and the master transcript. A doctoral transcript if applicable. (In English and in Chinese translation)

5. The certificate of bachelor degree, certificate of master degree and certificate of other higher degree research if applicable. (In English and in Chinese translation)

6. English language evidence.

7. Passport photo (small 2 inches).

8. Research output evidence (including but not limited to published papers, awards, patents, etc.).

9. The employer’s Certificate letters (if you have any work experience).

(The above application materials must be in English or certified after being translated into English. Note the items 4 &5 require both English and Chinese translation.)
